Medical pedicure

Medical pedicure is a professional service that differs considerably from pedicures in beauty salons.

Medical pedicure is a procedure to remove any negative changes on the feet caused by improper foot care, wearing inappropriate footwear or congenital defects and negligence.

The treatment begins by taking a history, ruling out contraindications and specifying the problems present on the feet.

During the treatment, the Foot Health Practitioner uses pincers and appropriate cutters to properly shorten, file, clean and polish the nail plate, remove cuticles and clean the nail shafts. With a scalpel/chisel and cutter, he removes hyperkeratosis, i.e. calluses, corns, cracked heels and, depending on the needs, applies the appropriate preparation to the nail plate and skin of the feet. During the treatment, the patient is instructed on how to properly care for their feet at home in order to enjoy smooth and healthy feet for as long as possible. The treatment is performed using disposable or sterile tools and professional preparations and cosmetics for the skin of the feet and nails.

The treatment is recommended to be carried out systematically, not only for people suffering from foot ailments, but also for the care of anyone wishing to prevent unpleasant foot lesions in the future.

The frequency of the pedicure treatment depends on the needs of the patient’s feet, but it is best performed every 4-6 weeks. This treatment helps to maintain well-groomed feet, but it can also be a way of catching worrying lesions early, which, by responding quickly, will allow for shorter and less painful treatment.
